Here are a few House jams that have skipped under the radar of late. Its a busy time of the year with hundreds of new releases coming out after the summer festival season came to a close. Its a lovely flood of music after such a drought. We only have a small barge on the ear canal though, so bare with us whilst we try sample the best of the aural seas in the following weeks.
Lee Foss, Hot Natured – Equilibrium
First up is the Hot Natured Release and this track Equilibrium. Its a dark, unsettling affair that somewhat reminds me of No doubt’s ‘Hella good’, I think it lies with in the alternating bass chug. Anyhow, it lives up to its name ‘Equilibrium’ perfectly with its streched out vocals, distressed sounds and almost siren like alarm bell over the top. It makes me an uneasy, and yet i go back for more. Whats with that!?
Sébastien Léger – Mixtape
Mixtape is the flipside to Sébastien Léger’s Gone Wild E.P. released on the one and only Pickadoll. I used to be a massive fan of the Pickadoll release back when Style Of Eye was releasing such classics as Girls. I slowly went off the label when they had a string of releases I just wasnt feeling. Now they are back on form though with Sébastien Léger’s Mixtape! theres also a Umek remix of it! Buy the full release here!
M.in – Who Said I’m Crazy (Luna City Express Remix)
Its the Luna City Express remix of M.in’s Who said i’m crazy from his ‘The Crazies E.P.’ It’s a sexy laid back groove with bumping bassline that gets you moving. A camp house track…. but I like it!
1200 Warriors – It’s Like
This is on some old school, New York, hip hop house flex. I know its not everyones cup of tea but love it for its nostalgic sounds, then kick back and reminisce in style!
And finally heres something a little special…
