I never realised Dan the Automator re-released a version of Rappers Delight. Worst of all it was for the Evian advert, yup, the Bottled water company. But as much as I hate rappers re-hashing the same old beat time and time again (especially for an advert), I can’t hate on Charli 2na’s Voice… If anything, this whole track just confuses me.

A critically acclaimed sound designer for TV & Film in his native Zagreb, Croatia. Marko Pelaic aka Homeboy drops his debut EP on Hypercolour. It’s no-nonsense House music that gets straight to the point. The EP is called Halfway and features 5 tracks, 4 originals and 1 remix by Youandewan. My pick off the EP has to be ‘you make me go crazy’, though the EP as a whole is beautifully crafted and well worth picking up. Go support!

Homeboy – You Make Me Go Crazy

Dirtybird also released their Hatched Part 3 the other day, the third and final release in the Hatched Series. It features tracks from Samuel Dan, Tom flynn, Soul clap, Nick Monaco, and my favourite of the e.p. Catz ‘n Dogz with ‘Bring me that water’. Go pick up the release here, or wait for the full length CD release of all three parts to drop. Either way, its all good.

DJ T. has just released a remix package for his track Leavin’ you, and it has a surprise winner on it. The David August remix. I’ve had this moody remix on repeat for a while now. It’s the perfect night drive track, or to listen to on the bus home. When the world outside is bustling, you are silent, and the only noises are your thoughts creeping through. Pretty gay I know, but don’t let this paragraph take anything away from such a good remix.

Talabot’s released on a few labels in his time, Permanent Vacation, Young Turks and his own Hivern Discs imprint, but its to the former he’s turned to release ƒin, a remarkable debut album that takes the late night inner-city vibes of producers like Burial and Convextion but splashes gold paint over those midnight blues and greys. The results are one of the saddest, but also inspiring records of 2012 so far.
