It Monday, it’s video of the week time. No Music, just a short 3D Animation showing the death of a star and it turning into a black hole. Beautiful visual representation.

On another note, amongst Diplo’s mad ramblings I managed to find this crazy Website http://giantgummybears.com. I want one!

Shobaleader One – D’Demonstrator

Written by . Filed under Design, Uncategorized. Tagged , , , , , , , . No comments.

Squarepusher has revealed the Debut album called ‘d’demonstrator’ will be released with 9 new tracks to add to that of their debut E.P. Cryptic Motion on Ed Banger. He has also revealed that they will be ready for a tour sometime next year and that he has been ‘in contact’ with Andre3000 from Outkast about possibly hooking up to create something. If you are wondering what, where, and who Shobaleader One are then please read on, as here are a few words from the man himself in a recent press release.

“Last summer a bunch of kids got in contact with me. They were talking about forming an ensemble, which I thought was a ridiculous idea but I was impressed by their perseverance so we met up. Their idea was that they wanted the ‘fantasy group’ I had written about in connection with [past Squarepusher album] Just A Souvenir to become a real entity that would record and tour. So we had a go at doing some recording and the story so far is documented on this record.”

“The overall aim is to articulate my music through the medium of a band. I always thought that a band would be a limiting thing. I’ve got very used to being able to make music by programming or playing without having to explain anything to anyone, and I assumed it would slow everything down if I had to. Actually it has made it quicker because I’m not trying to be four people simultaneously any more. I’m not over-explaining anything to them as they’ve got strong ideas of their own and I want to hear that in the final results.”

The video below shows a quick idea of the show, still probably pretty rough, but with a little imagination will be cool… thats if squarepushers own live shows are anything to go by.

Digital Turntables, when will they learn?

Some how i don’t think this will ever catch on. Firstly there’s not enough precision in it, and secondly wheres the tactile interface DJ’s just love to tweak? Its a nice idea anyhow and i guess something that could be applied to the new tablet generation Apple seem to have spawned successfully/Unfortunately (edit as you prefer). I for one think things like this need to be taken at face value, they are fun and not too serious.

Those of you accessing the site via a smart phone will now be redirected to a mobile friendly version of the blog. We will be working on improving the mobile browser shortly, but for now it means the load up time, data usage, and readability of blog posts is made easy for mobile browsers and RSS feed readers.
Also with Google’s App developer coming out soon, anyone will be able to build their own apps for smart phones with ease. So watch this space when we develop our own for… well, we will figure that out when the time comes!

Heres Riva Starr’s remix of Cajmere’s ‘Perculator’ track, out August 30th 2010. It’s not easy taking a classic and brilliant track and remixing it into something new. Good Job Mr Starr.

Before we get into any music matters i’ve recently stumbled on ‘Insa’ again, after first reading about him in ’04 when he featured on the front of Graffitism mag. I think he’s the shit and so should you.Check out some of his stuff below or go check out his site/blog here.

Now on to the music and there is a real mix of stuff here, but feeling them all for one reason or another! All free to download so go for it!
First up is a man i can’t get enough of in the Hip Hop world right now. Loving his Album ‘Sir Lucious Left foot, son of dusty chico’ and here are two tracks off the album. The first one holds the Atlanta sound and has a classic big boi/outkast style, and though it might not sound like it on your laptop it gets pretty epic on a large system! Bang it loud.

Big Boi – Night Night (feat. B.o.B & Joi)

The Second Big Boi track is The train part II and is totally different to Night Night but still has all the ATL flavour. A smooth groove to throw on at dusk on a hot sticky summer evening, so just recoup, relax, recline….

Big Boi – The Train Part II (Sir Lucious Left Foot Save The Day) (feat. Sam Chris)

This track samples Justin Trouser snake’s (or should i say Timberlands!?) ‘My Love’ into a deep brooding disco house joint. Not sure if i’d ever play it out, but its a nice track to listen to in the comfort of your living room for sure.

Fet et Moi – Paris Is For Lovers

Heads up to Asheard.com for this one. Hackman is dubstep producer that appeared to be left behind but is now coming through strong and for good reasons. This ‘dubstep/garage/2-step track shows of his diversity as a producer well. I want to hear more from this guy, and i’m not even a dubstep fan!

Hackman – More Than Ever

Just listen to it… awesome!

Mark Henning – Sweet Atom

Finally we have Zombie Disco Squad’s Dance Do Zumbi. Its a brilliant party track for the 5 years of Man Recordings compilation and gracefully given away for free by the guys via Jackmode. Thanks!
