Here it is, our very own chart. You may agree with some of the tracks, you may disagree, either way we will be dropping our chart at the beginning of each month (I know its late for september already) and the tracks for you to listen to. We’re not going to throw up tracks we’ve never heard because there’s hype behind them either (i’ve caught a lot of people out doing this). So with out further a do… lets kick it off.

Justin Martin & Ardalan – Mr Spock (Buy)
This track is just straight killing it with all walks of life at the moment. For more information heres Claude Vonstrokes write up on the release.
‘At the young age of just 20 years old, Ardalan from the TCH Dolphin crew in San Jose is
quickly proving himself to be a leader in the next generation of bay area house music. Justin
Martin quickly recognized his talent when Ardalan sent him a 10 minute demo.
After one listen Justin thought the track was genius but needed some additional editing and arrangement work. He took on the project and the outcome was “Mr. Spock.”This dancefloor monster was instantly charted #1 by myself and Jesse Rose as soon as we heard it. It works. For real’

Tiga – Gentle Giant (Martyn’s Heaven rmx) (Download)
Martyn’s remix of Tiga’s Gentle giant, taken from Tiga’s album Ciao! is by far the best remix! The groove is heavily swung and laced with stabbing keys through out and is a pretty slow tempo for the likes of Martyn.

Gorge – Keya (Buy)
This track is taken from Gorge’s L.P. ‘Mood’ and is a really nice slow building house track. Check it out and then go get it here

Sebastien Phillip and Dan Caster – Drunkin’ Native (Buy)
There is a Sascha Braemer remix of this, but we personally prefer the original. It sounds very much like a Dirtybird release and will have us dancing for a very long time.

Magnetic Man – The Bug
This isn’t out till October 11th when Skream, Benga and Artwork aka Magnetic Man drop their self titled debut album on Columbia Records. Its a big track and i expect it’ll go massive.

The Jackson Five – Dancing Machine (Henrik Schwarz Remix) (Download)
I’m a sucker for the funk, and Henrik Schwarz does a nice job of remixing this. Just like his Bill wither’s remix its perfect for the early hours of a night.

The Jellies – Jive baby on a Saturday night
This is a classic from the 80′s or 90′s. It was originally a 300 limited edition vinyl pressing, and recently re-discovered by Optimo. Apparently he played it 7 times in a row at a club in NYC about 2 months ago. Its now getting re-released on Trunk Records tomorrow! (Sept 13th)

Tapesh And Maximiljan – Wide Range (Buy)
Check out the post covering their whole E.P. This track still does it for me, such a killer groove.

Toddla T – Better (Seiji’s Troubleadub) (Download)
Seiji does wonders turning this Toddla track into an old 90′s style house track, reminds me slightly of some of the old M.A.W remixes. You may find it a bit cheesy, but begin grooving to it and its sure to put a big smile on your face.
3 great blogs to read
Although this site is generally about house and hip hop, its sometimes nice to deviate away from reading about music and look at other subjects. Some of you may remember us doing a piece on the top 10 tumblrs of 2012. It wasn’t very well researched and mainly consisted of classic internet lulz. Its now time to grow up a bit (I say this loosely) and look at 3 great blogs to read.
Pizza Quest
Joe Iley’s Pizza Quest is for the man who loves pizza. The kind of love that if Pizza were a woman, she would be Helen of Troy. Don’t let the mundane topic of Pizza make you think its a boring read either, even after hearing a local taste maker say “Pizza is SO last year”. Joe manages to deviate from the topic in ways I could never have imagined, whilst some how maintaining a pizza based point.
Pigeon Blog
Brian has been writing about his life, London knowledge, and everything else in between for about 7 years now, and is THEE number one pigeon to go to for London Pigeon answers. I’m sure he’s happy with the weather today.
27bslash6
This man loves a good email/letter of complaint. The witty correspondence between the two subjects makes for a great read, and his book has gone on to become a New York Times Best Seller, for good reason. The posts on www.27bslash6.com aren’t quick social feed gag-a-second pieces, they are all consuming dialogue joy.
