Fresh out of death started as a small party in Nottingham. The main objective of the night didn’t follow a business plan of making money, the objective was too busy drunk in a corner to care. So having a good time and dancing all night ensued. Thankfully the night went from strength to strength and a good couple of years went by with us seeing a comprehensible list of DJ’s come and play. Such acts included DJ Mehdi, Sinden, Diplo, Style of eye, Justin Martin, Mr Oizo, Annie Mac, Jesse Rose, Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots, Riva Starr, Herve, Solo, Zombie Disco Squad, D.I.M, Toddla T, Riton, Tayo, Duke Dumont, Boy 8-Bit, DJ Kentaro, Late of the Pier, Mumdance, Acid Girls, Urchins, Tomb Crew, Sammy Bananas, Hijack, Oneman, Crystal Fighters, Rico Tubbs + Many others.
As time went on and careers blossomed else where, Fresh out of death nights naturally came to a head. Many still ask if we’re going to be throwing any parties soon, or think about bringing it back for a one off. I can’t say we are done with the night completely, but we wanted to continue sharing with you the music that wanted us to start a night in the first place. That is where this site/blog comes in.
Continuing the Fresh out of death name and transferring it from a club night to Blog is an odd way around to do things. But we still feel the need to share with you the music, interviews and mixes from the people we love. So until our next big night, sink your teeth into some of the best House and Hip Hop music… Enjoy!
