These two tracks went down like a lead balloon last night, which means they’re probably even better than I originally thought. The Lost Boyz chorus was later used by Timberland for Lil kim’s ‘The Jump off’.

Its Wednesday. For me, the day after a 6 hour hip hop set, getting about 3 hours sleep, and the devil child plying me with drink.
I cant take any more Rap music right now, and even though the phase will pass, i’ll throw myself off the train if some dude starts busting his chops. That said, I’m enjoying the delights of house music. More notably this remix from Gati Masina, and the Omar S mix of ‘Wayne County Hill Cops’…. Bingo.

Take a dash of Daft Punk and mix it with some Life Like and you’ve got MAM’s ‘Crushed Ice’. They released a bunch of edits on Wolf + Lamb a while back. I do believe ‘Crushed Ice’ is on The Future Disco Vol.4 compilation, and Vol.5 is coming out today. Might be worth checking out if you like ‘future disco’

Roy Davis Jr’s ‘About Love’ is one of the stand out releases in the Classic back catalogue, and a firm favourite with the who’s who of DJs that actually matter. This second collection of remixes brings the release back into the forefront of the deep house scene. The Yambee! (aka Ashley Beedle & Yam Who?) Sunday Session Remix has been available exclusively on vinyl for a good few months now. Some may find the Eats Everything remix the best, but for me, Pezzner steals the show. His slow build up ladened with stabs of sax sets the tone before the vocals drop. Then around the 2.30 mark the clap sets the whole track off. A real winner. Check out the whole EP here.

Ante Meridiem… Here we have some perfect late night/early morning music for when everything is winding down at a party. First up is the Noze remix of Ornette – Crazy. This two track remix E.P. has a radio version and an extended club edit, which I highly recommend picking up.
We also have Gadi Mizrahi + Soul clap’s deep disco house track ‘Romantic comedy’ from their ‘Joint Custody EP’ that was released last week. Its a slow burner and perfect to get you moving in the morning. If you like Soul Clap then the whole EP should appeal to you, and is available over at beatport.

Iron solomon released a new track called The Empire a few weeks ago, and it features Talib Kweli. Its another ode to New York City which is fine, as we all know London is the Capital of the world.
Also I’m not sold on Iron Solomon. His latest mixtape felt a bit weak, but when he wants to go on a epic nostalgia tip, he does it well. I’ve also included his track ‘King’ from 2010.
