Imagination – So Good So Right (Johanna Knutsson Edit) (download)
New Klasse signing Johanna Knutsson brings us a re-edit of Imagination’s ‘So Good So Right’. Johanna had been playing the original a lot, but wanted something with less vocals and more of a steady dancefloor groove. Thus the ‘So Easy’ re-edit was born! Thanks to Klasse for this, its too good.

Heres the Klasse Quick Fix for you all. Two tracks, one by Luca Lozano and the other and edit by Mr.Ho. The first is a deep house affair, whilst Mr Ho edits Donna McGhee’s ‘Make it last for ever’ and turns it into a disco esq funky dancefloor jam.

Probably one of the most under rated Hip Hop producers in my eyes, especially when he has a track called Travellin’ Man! It was taken from his album HII in 1998, and is an all time favourite of mine. It features Mos Def before he dropped his Black on Both Sides album, and encompasses that sound a lot of producers like Hi-Tek were producing in the late 90′s… Go buy Dj Honda‘s HII album, but if thats too much for you then check out the tracks below!

You may have seen and heard of architectural mapping before. Its something i wish would be implemented into large scale warehouse parties or events, as i’ve found lighting is underestimated in too many ways (most the time its executed badly). Of course you still need the DJ and sound system for a club night to work, but far too often club goers don’t get enough visual stimulation.

The second preview of Catz N Dogz album Escape from Zoo has recently been released, and it has a brilliant piece of music called ‘Far away’ as the first track (it also features Claude vonstroke!). The other two tracks on it are nice but don’t top Far Away for sheer pleasure. Be sure to cop the release or at least just this track!

Finally getting round to checking out the Get Physical releases that have dropped this month. Thomas Schumacher’s new release ‘You Got Me’ came out at the beginning of October, and has a groove which is bound to get everybody shaking their booty on the dancefloor. It also holds some great remix work from the likes of Emerson Todd (which you can check out below) and ONNO. Its definitely worth a peep so have a listen to the other versions here and buy the release if you’re feeling it!

In 2002, DJ T., Booka Shade, and M.A.N.D.Y started their own label, Get Physical. It needs no introduction but it does need to be known that its celebrating its 8th year in the game. The Best of DJ T. – Part 1 is a retrospective of his production work, and the first of (in what i hope to be) many collections defining his own musical moments. Taking in the classics, highlights, undiscovered b-sides and sound developments of DJ T.’s accomplished career, we are left with a compilation of his own works, and they are awesome!
“Alongside his achievements outside of the studio, DJ T. has consistently sought to create dance music with an authentic groove at its heart. The Best Of DJ T. – Part 1 is a testament to his gift for that groove, and to his influence as one of the most beloved and respected figures in electronic music today”
I can’t really whittle the release down to a few select tracks as they are all pretty good in their own right. I will however throw up a few I still cant get enough of! But seriously, for just over £6 quid its worth the purchase, and you can pick it up here.

Aphex Twin – Windowlicker (Renaissance Man Bootcut)
Renaissance man’s bootleg Aphex twin’s Windowlicker (one of my favourite tracks of all time) is subtle and well produced, it doesn’t ruin a classic but instead makes it their own. Props!

Catz N’ Dogz – Sunset In The East (Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts Remix)
This is going to be in the record bag for some time. It may as well be a bouncy castle with the amount of groove and bounce it has going on, not to mention the parisian flavour of the accordion sprinkled through out. Got to love Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts.

Domenico Modugno – Vecchio Frack (Joe T Vannelli Edit)
Soft whistling that flows in and out, and a Mediterranean set of vocals singing something i know nothing about all, all point towards the ‘gypsy house’ genre. Don’t be mistaken however, as this isn’t over the top and is a quality house joint that chills you out nicely.

A great track with vocal stabs through out. All i have to say is that it’ll get your shoulders jackin’ and your feet grooving.

Tom Flynn dropped his new 2 track E.P. on Dirtybird a couple of days ago. The first track ‘Catch that bird’ is a classic bouncey Dirtybird house warbler.
